Duchesne is one of the only manufacturers to offer packaging in boxes and bags that make handling and storage easier. In addition, all our polyethylene films are reusable and recyclable.

Requirements of standard CGSB 51.34-M86
The material has a uniform look and lacks visible defects such as holes, tears, blisters and pits, in accordance with good industrial practices.
The material doesn’t stick to the point of being torn or damaged when unrolled.
Each roll is made of a single piece of polyethylene.
An appropriate antioxidant of low volatility adequately stabilizes the material against any long-term thermal degradation.
SHEET LENGTH AND WIDTH
Sheet length and width are not less than prescribed values measured under the ISO 1923 standard.
Only pure resin with a density between 0.905 and 0.930 g/mL and a maximum melt flow index of 1.5g/10 min. is used. The density and melt flow index are determined respectively according to ASTM standards D1505 and D1238.
TENSILE STRENGTH AND ELONGATION
Tested according to method A of ATSM D882, the material meets the following requirements:
- Cross direction tensile strength: 12 MPa minimum
- Transverse direction tensile strength: 8 MPa minimum
- Cross direction elongation: 225% minimum
- Transverse direction elongation: 350% minimum
Tested according to procedure B of ASTM E96, vapour permeance does not exceed 15ng/Pa•s•m². It is thus a type 1 vapour barrier.
When measured according to ASTM D2103, the material’s nominal average thickness is neither less than 10 mil (254 μm) nor less than 7.6 mil (193 μm) at any point of the film.
When measured according to method B of ASTM D1709, the impact resistance of the material’s face is not less than 300g.
OXIDATION INDUCTION TIME
When measured according to ASTM D3895 and to the related revisions indicated in Appendices A and B of the CGSB 51.34-M86 standard, the induction time measured on the film is not less than 30 minutes at a testing temperature of 190°C.
The material is adequately stabilized against any degradation from ultraviolet radiation. The film retains at least 50% of its initial tensile elongation (measured according to ASTM D882) after exposure to total radiation of 750 kJ/m² at a wavelength of 340 nm in a Xenon arc weather-ometer. See ASTM G26-77 and Appendix C of the CGSB 51.34-M86 standard for further details on the weather resistance test.
In 2008, the extensive efforts of the company to improve its methods and production standards were awarded. The fabrication of Ultra plus vapour barrier was frequently reviewed and audited by independent sources to insure high quality controlled methods, so it became natural for the company to extend this audit to all of the plant. In February 2008, the polyethylene plant was awarded ISO 9001 certification. This award recognizes Duchesne's management methods and quality control efficiency from order entry, production to service.
